Apple trees follow an early, mid, and late bloom patterns in the Spring (April-May)
Gaining blooms is like their (apple people with the same genetic mix as Mae) form of puberty - apple trees don't bear fruit until they are 3-5 years old, and similarly, apple people don't bloom until puberty.

The blooms are essentially harmless, but Mae is basically 'in heat' - but since Mae has been dealing with this since she was a kid, she has it under control and really just gets a little moody on bad days.
Her internal chemistry changes, and she is more likely to become pregnant if she is blooming - given she is sleeping with someone - and her internal temperature rises (hence her much darker, constant, blush during this time). Big ol' apple period.
This lasts until the beginning of the summer when the bloom drop (some take a bit longer to detach and last into late summer), and if the blooms aren't completely gone by fall, she is pregnant. Even if she pulls her blossoms (which is, at times, painful, depending on the size and maturity of the bloom), another one will pop up to signify her being pregnant. If she is to get pregnant, she will have the blossoms until she gives birth.
If she were to get pregnant in a different season, then she will wake up with blossoms soon afterwards. Kinda like a "HEY GUESS WHAT" notification. Her own little test~! Haha. The blossoms will wilt and she will get very ill if something were to happen to the child while pregnant, so it is also important that she stay healthy during both pregnancy, and Spring.

Also, bees can't "polinate" her and give her babies. The flowers are just like... Formalities. If a bee does anything, all that happens is Mae gets kinda annoyed and has more flowers to deal with hahaha.

So the wooden bits are actually hand woven by her - Mae and her Daddy, who is a tree person, started to make her blossoms look more appealing by making it look like flower crowns when she was first starting to have her blossoms. It's become tradition and makes Mae less self conscious. »}

this is literally me right now

its gotten so hot in just like two days just a week ago we were expecting snow this is ridiculous

anyway this is super cute and i love this new design and the info about her being pregnant is so interesting and creative like wow wee))
